Frozen food should be thawed before feeding. Then simply add roughly 5-6 pieces of thawed mysis shrimp per seahorse into the tank, 2-3 times per day. Leave in the tank until the seahorses aren’t showing any further interest in the food, then remove the excess food with a syphon after each feeding.
We strongly recommend pre-rinsing the thawed food in RO or aquarium water prior to feeding. This cleans the food and reduces the waste introduced into your aquarium water. It works well to use a strainer of some sort. After thawing, the food can then be placed into a container to further soak the food in an enrichment, if desired.
Do not microwave or thaw frozen food in hot water as this can breakdown nutrients.
